Marion County Technical Center was opened in 1979. The student body includes enrollees from North Marion High School, East Fairmont High School, Fairmont Senior High School, Hundred High School, and the adult community. The study areas are: Agricultural Education, Marketing/Entrepreneurship (DCT), Pro Start/Food Management, Business Education, Trade and Industrial Education, Health Science Technology, Applied Academics, Special Education and Technology Education. They also offer Civil Service Testing, GED Preparation, West Virginia Certification Examination for Nursing Assistants, National Restaurant Association Certification, MOUS Training, and National Center for Construction Education and Research Certification.
North Central (WV) OIC and the Marion County Technical Center is a private community based, non-profit, job training and educational facility that provides education and specialized training to the residents of North Central West Virginia. OIC offers specialized training in a variety of high-paying career programs including: Administrative Office Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, Registered Dental Assistant, Medical Office Management, Medical Transcription, Certified Nurse Aide / Home Health Aide, Patient Care Aide, Medical Coding Specialist and Phlebotomy. OIC offers 2-year programs in Business, Child Care and Guidance Workers and Management, Health and Medical Assistants, and Nurse Assistant/Aide.
